With a budget of 3.6 billion Riyals, the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs’ Families launches Eid al-Adha projects for all families of martyrs and the missing.

Under the slogan “3,000 Days of Blood-Sacrifice Giving,” and under the patronage of the President of the Supreme Political Council, Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs’ Families launched its Eid al-Adha projects this Tuesday morning. Held at the Officers’ Club conference hall in the capital, Sana’a, the event—conducted in partnership with the General Authority for Zakat—covers all families of martyrs and the missing across all governorates, with a total budget of 3.6 billion Riyals. The launch was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs Hussein Maqbuli, Minister of Local Administration Major General Ali bin Ali al-Qaisi, Head of the General Authority for Zakat Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, and various state officials. Taha Jaran, Head of the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs’ Families, explained that the initiatives include a quarterly subsistence project (costing 1.946 billion Riyals), a sponsorship project for 55,064 beneficiaries (costing 1.105 billion Riyals), and an “Eid Gift” project for 57,181 beneficiaries (costing 571.81 million Riyals). Jaran emphasized that credit belongs first and foremost to God, noting that the projects were deliberated by the Authority’s leadership council, officially approved, and immediately implemented; he also expressed gratitude to the General Authority for Zakat for funding and supporting these initiatives. He further noted that the total cost of projects undertaken by the Authority during the Hijri year 1444 exceeded 24 billion Riyals. For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Maqbuli stated that these projects, dedicated to the families of martyrs and the missing, rank among the most sacred endeavors undertaken to serve the families of those through whose sacrifices God has honored the nation. Maqbuli added: “As a government, we are deeply committed to providing whatever support we can to the families of martyrs and the missing; through the projects we are launching today, we aim to alleviate their suffering.” He urged all benevolent individuals to attend to the needs of these families and bring joy to their hearts—especially with Eid al-Adha approaching—while commending the role of the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs’ Families. For his part, Shamsan Abu Nashtan, Head of the General Authority for Zakat, stated: “In the presence of the martyrs—who hold a lofty status in the sight of God—we stand in reverence and gratitude for their sacrifices.” He added: “No matter what support we provide to the families of this sacred group, we remain in their debt; our contribution will be ongoing, and we strive to further improve our efforts.” Abu Nashtan called upon all official bodies, civil society groups, and benefactors to stand in support of the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs’ Families and to cooperate with it to ensure the success of its significant endeavors.
